How do we define today’s Renaissance women? Our story follows four women as they navigate the duality of conservative professions with their societally provocative side hustles and passion projects. Moonlighting traces the pursuit of balance and validation of these different paths. Ultimately, breaking free and disrupting archaic societal norms towards a new idea of the modern woman.
Sandy better known as TheSandyLion is a stylist and designer with the simple goal of helping people look and feel the best about themselves. She has clients from all walks of life from celebrities to people just looking to improve their daily fashion. She also works as an elementary school teacher in Brampton, and has partnered with organizations to help spread access to education to girls around the world.
Allix is a healer, nurturer and an advocate of women empowerment through her heels dance classes. Over the past ten years Allix struggled to try and navigate the duality of her life. Wearing one hat as a health care professional and another hat as a sensual provocative dancer.
Alina is a theatre trained performance artist and model from Baltimore, Maryland. She is based in New York. She teaches pole dancing classes to empower and allow woman to explore their sensuality and strength in a safe space.
Tejal is a therapist and CEO of her brand/blog platform known as @Brightdollface- Hype Coach Tejal, MSW. She uses her platform as a curvy model and hype coach to empower women and give them to confidence to feel comfortable in their own identities.
Jay Shetty is the founder of Saffron Pen, an independent American film & documentary production company based in New York. They build diversity-focused content for television & digital platforms in multiple language formats. He was a producer of the 2019 feature film The Last Color by Vikas Khanna and is currently working on a documentary focusing on the Guatemalan education system as a director/producer among other diversity focused content projects.
Moonlighting is Allix Devenish's first role as an Executive Producer. A new entry into the film industry but a veteran at storytelling through dance, she takes on the responsibility of bringing this important story of so many women's journeys to life.</p> <p>With this passion project, her goal is to create a platform that initiates a shift in society’s perception of what a modern day woman should look like; while simultaneously empowering new generations of women to show up authentically in more than one direction at a time.
